Sungazing from Beachfront Suites with a Natural View

I recently heard a guest saying that it was amazing how they could sungaze directly from their suite. I had never thought about doing that, but sungazing is apparently one of the best ways to start your day.

Beautiful Beachfront Suites for Sungazing

Because Palmaïa (@thehouseofaia) faces east over the Caribbean waters of México, it allows guests to sungaze  from the privacy of their ocean-front suites… literally without getting out of bed!

But, before getting excited as I am, you might  be asking yourself what sungazing is. This spiritual and psychological practice echoes  its name and is done at sunrise when the sun is closest to the horizon  for approx. 5–15 minutes (after that the sun gets too strong and can be damaging to the eyes). The sun is the force of all life—staring at it can infuse the body with pure energy and happiness. Sungazers claim that this ritual boosts their secretion of melatonin and serotonin, which increases their vitality and makes them feel good.

It’s not always easy to sungaze. Modern structures, mountains, and even trees too often obstruct the view of the sun when it rises. The sea, where the horizon is low, is the ideal place. Which is one of the reasons Palmaia, The House of AïA  was designed with all its suites facing the Caribbean. So if filling the world with orange glow each morning at dawn is your idea of a great vacation, be sure to request a room above the tree-line.

On the other hand, many of the first floor suites are nestled under the cool shade of the virgin mangroves, where you can indulge in a healthy dose of nature-gazing. Surrounded by tropical jungle foliage and natural cool-water cenotes, it’s  the perfect spot to reconnect with nature and get all the benefits from it. This practice makes self-understanding, self-realization, self-love, and healing grow. It mends the gap between our human soul and the soul of the natural world, giving us the opportunity to recognize ourselves as beings of nature within  nature.

FInally, there are a few buildings that have ground floor, swim-out suites. Of course, they still enjoy the great natural views and morning sun, but are designed more for those that want to walk straight from their private terrace into the large pools—whether it’s for an early morning swim, a late-night plunge, or swimmable access to one of the pool bars.

I guess the point is, whatever your natural mood, this place has a suite made especially for you, to  enhance  your health through a variety of spectacular views, which will help  you feel reborn after going back home. Nature is a key element that will increase your happiness, connectedness, and overall well-being, so respect it, explore it, protect it, and appreciate it as we do at  Palmaïa, The House of AïA.
